I’m a candidate in the fall 2017 election for TESOL’s Board of Director’s. I’d love your support. Check out this catchy video, or read my remarks below. [Update: November, 2017. Thanks for your support everyone. I was elected and will serve on the TESOL Board from March 2018-2021.]

I’ve been involved in our field for many years as a classroom teacher and teacher educator as an author and as a consultant and workshop presenter in the U.S. and in a variety of countries around the world.

Within the TESOL association I’ve been an interest section leader served on a number of committees and worked on task forces exploring future governance structures. And I’ve given a wide variety of conference presentations.

I’m committed to our association—it’s my professional home—and my commitment comes from a feeling of professional pride and belonging and is fostered by gratitude for the many opportunities for professional development that TESOL provides us through online offerings through the annual convention through publications and through a variety of networking opportunities.

I would like to serve on the TESOL board to strengthen our outreach and advocacy efforts to continue to expand our professional development offerings and to build closer connections between the association and our members so that we can fulfill our goal of being the premier professional association for English language teachers around the world.

So, please do vote in this fall’s election. If your membership is current, you’ll receive an email with a link to the ballot. I would appreciate your support Thank you.

UPDATE – NOVEMBER 2017 – Many thanks to all of you for your support in the election. I’m happy to say that I will be serving on the TESOL Board from 2018-2021. You can see the complete election results here.
